Visitor Comments: I have had the absolute best time this week Bear hunting with Ryan Shepard/Shepard Hunting Company and staying at the Katahdin Lodge - The food is first rate home cooking and the entire facility is immaculate - the whole staff have been so nice and welcoming the entire week. I highly recommend the lodge, and plan to come back next year!

Name: Scott Visitor Comments: Me and two buddies went wheelin' for four days last year. Each day was rain filled but Chuck and Jonathan made us feel welcome like family. The lodge was great, trails fun, and the food was served lumberjack style. This year it'll be me and four buddies filling the cabin and hitting the trails. We can't wait for another great time. Scott, Brian, and Brian.

Name: Joseph A. Pazo Visitor Comments: Was with you in 1964 when my brother, Mike, and 2 of our friends hunted bear in the Spring Hunt. Only one of us got a bear but we all enjoyed our stay. Finding this Web Site brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks, Mary and Joe Pazo Entry #: 31 Entry Date: 2010-09-20 18:37:27
Name: Susan Bellero Visitor Comments: I have never been there to visit. But it sure looks beautiful. I am sending an old picture I found in my grandfather's photos. His friend Bob Williams from Sussex NJ is in the photo. There is no date on the picture but I think it must be from the '50's. The history is 5 Bears were shot in a week in June, 2 by rifle and 3 by bow & arrow. Three of the bears are hanging on the tree. Hope you enjoy the picture from the history of Katahdin Lodge & Camps.

Name: Patsy Epperson Visitor Comments: In a word - AWESOME! Love, love, loved the lodge. The rooms were extremely comfortable and large. So refreshing from cramped hotel rooms. Everyone was so friendly, even the cat that dropped by to visit as we came "home" one evening. And breakfast, they aren't kidding when they say all you can eat - it's MORE than you can eat and delicious. Definitely on my list of places to return to.

Name: Mark and Jan Schultz Visitor Comments: Chuck Loucka was a very good friend thru High School and College, an amazing piano player and musician and one of the nicest guys I've ever known. I was able to view his site and the photos of his Lodge look great. The atmosphere and nature views seem unbelievable. I hope to someday soon make it up to stay at the Lodge. My wife and I have always wanted to get up to the Maine area, and now I know there is a sort of friendly home away from home waiting up there. Hopefully some of our old HS friends will come along and we can have a fun reunion of sorts. Keep up the good work Chuck and "Go Holy Name!!"

Name: David Robert Crews Visitor Comments: I really like the addition of the photo tour of the inside of the Lodge and cabins. It looks like you are really keeping it all up very nicely. Those photos of the harvested Moosies make me drool for big fat juicy Moose steaks. I ate a lot of deer meat when I lived and worked at the Lodge, back when Fin and Marty owned it, but Moose were not legal to hunt at the time, so my only Moose steak experience was at a hunter's home in Massachusetts who had gotten a Moose up in Canada. If I ever get back up ta' Moro Plantation again I'll swap ya' some firewood splittin' time for a Moose steak. If you want to see some historic photos of the old Katahdin Lodge go to ursusdave.blogspot.com, it was real rough lookin' back then compared to now. There's nothing for sale at my blog, and I have a link there to your site for ya. I hope I have driven some traffic your way, you run the Lodge as a nice family place there that I am proud to have a personal history with.
